Forsaken World- Questions and Answers
These are some questions I asked myself, and maybe you will too.
Q: When will Forsaken World come to the Western market?
A: So far, in 2010. An exact date has yet to be announced.
Q: For movement, wasd or mouse control?
A: Both.
Q: Can you jump in Forsaken World?
A: Yes, though it's not clear if you can "double-jump", like in Perfect World, or if there is simply a "normal" jump.
Q: Is there a quest tracker?
A: Yes. Quests will show up at the right site of your screen. If you open the quest menu, a detailed summary of what you have to do shows up.
Also, there is an auto tracker that let's you find npcs, for example. (Though I won't use the auto-tracker, I prefer finding things myself =) ).
Q: Can you fly?
A: Apart from floating guild fortresses, you or a mount can't fly. This might get implemented later on.
Q: Will there be customization like in Perfect World?
A: Not much is known about that yet, but pictures like this gives us all hope:
Also, in an interview, it was mentioned that you can customize "(skin-)color, hairstyle, hair color, face and something "innovative" (body?)", though google translate isn't the most reliable tool.
Q: What are the system requirements?
A: So far:
System Specifications:
Basic System Requirements:
CPU: Dual-Core 2.0GHz
Memory: 1G
Graphic Card: GeForce 9600GT
Hard Disk:
Recommended System Requirements:
CPU: Dual-Core 2.5GHz
Memory: 2G
Graphic Card: GeForce 9800GT
Hard Disk
But the exact requirements have yet to be announced. These may change any time.
Q: How does the currency system work?
A: There are two currencies to avoid gold spammers rampaging through the economy. Soul gold and normal gold is set: Copper-Silver-Gold,
100 copper will probably be 1 Silver and 100 Silver will probably be 1 Gold. Read more here and here.
Q: Will Forsaken World be a Perfect World clone?
A: If you read about all the features here, you will see that Forsaken World has some really unique and interesting things to offer that Perfect World hasn't.
I haven't played Forsaken World yet, but I can see that Forsaken World sets itself apart from the rest of PW Entertainment's games rather clearly.
Q: Will Forsaken World be free to play?
A: Perfect World is a company that releases free to play games with microtransitions (item shops), so I would say yes. But in the Chinese forums, discussions about the
payment type have been going on. So it might be that the payment type hasn't been officially released yet.
Q: What? They are just working on Kung Foo and BoI, how come they can release yet another game?
Forsaken World, formerly developed under the codename "Project Empire" (Or PEM), has been in development for more than three years.
Q: How many players can be in a party?
A: At the moment, it seems 6 players can form a party (of course less are possible too), but in the Chinese forums, the possibility of forming a squad with 24 members has been discussed. I am, however, not sure if that is only a feature they would like implemented or if it will be already existent for out version.
If you have a question that hasn't been covered yet, why don't you ask it in a comment? I would be glad to try and answer it (or ask more knowledgeable people like AutumnalDusk or cinderboy).
